2026-2027 Preaching Peer Learning Cohort (PPLC)

    What?

    • A continuing education professional development certificate program for pastors and preachers who regularly preach (minimum of 15 sermons per year) and want to sharpen their preaching in a lifelong pursuit of excellence.
    • A community of 5-10 peers who learn from each other and with each other in a mutually supportive Preaching Peer Learning Cohort (PPLC) guided by an experienced preaching practitioner who serves as a mentor. Visit the website for a list of our 2026 – 2027 Mentors. Each Cohort meeting will also feature teaching from our Homiletical Scholar in Residence, Dr. Robert Smith, Jr.
    • An opportunity to explore five (5) key components contributing to preaching excellence: The Person of the Preacher, Biblical Preaching, Application in Preaching, Celebration in Preaching, Sermon Delivery, & Evaluation.

    Who?

    • PPLC members are primarily African American pastors and preachers born in 1979 or later. While a primary focus is on those born in 1979 or later, everyone who desires to participate in a PPLC will be included.
