Seven Men Who Rule the World From the Grave (seven sessions)Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 3:00 PM until Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 4:30 PM Book Review and Discussion Facilitated by Professor Matt Ball DATE: Tuesday's, September 6, 13, 20, and 27, and October 4, 11, and 18 TIME: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM LOCATION: CIDL Conference Room (Thrift Library Basement) COST: $30.00 (Covers course fee and book) Though their bodies lie cold and dormant, the grave cannot contain the influence these seven men have had on today's world. They continue to rule because they have altered the thinking of society. They generated philosophies that have been ardently grasped by masses of people but are erroneous and anti-scriptural. Today these ideas pervade our schools, businesses, homes, and even the church. As we continue to unknowingly subscribe to their philosophies, we keep the grave open for Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, Julius Wellhausen, John Dewey, Sigmund Freud, John Maynard Keynes, and Soren Kierkegaard. Dave Breese warns us of the dangers of believing unreservedly the ideas of these seven men. He also reminds us of the only man whose life and words we can trust completely--Jesus Christ. Professor Matt Ball: After a twenty-six-plus-year career at Bosch (half as an executive), Matt Ball retired and joined the faculty at Anderson University’s College of Business. He teaches courses in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Statistics, Statistical Quality Management, and Global Supply Chain Management. He literally stepped out of the Global Supply Chain and into the Supply Chain Classroom. Matt has Industrial Engineering, BS, MA, Teaching MA, and post-graduate certification in Applied Data Analysis. His passion is to bring the real world “nuts and bolts” of Supply Chain management and merge it with the theory of SCM. His students quickly come to the realization that “Business problems are messy!” and “Logic, data and reason” are needed to help clean up the mess. Providing some insight for Lifelong Learners is a delight for him.
