TY COBB STORY AND MUSEUM DAY TRIP
    In Person Event

    Friday, September 24, 2021
    9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Meet and Park at Boulevard Baptist Church Overflow Parking, 700 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621

    $40.00 per person (includes lunch)

Come join us for a day trip to Royston, GA for a museum tour of local baseball hero, Ty Cobb.
Cobb is widely credited with setting 90 MLB records during his career. His combined total of 4,065 runs scored and runs batted in (after adjusting for home runs) is still the highest ever produced by any major league player.

After lunch at the Old Corner Hardware Store in Royston, we will travel to the nearby Elberton Granite Museum. This museum features exciting historical exhibits, artifacts, and educational displays. Three tiers of self-guided exhibits allow visitors to see unique granite products as well as antique granite working tools used in the quarrying, sawing, polishing, cutting, and sandblasting of granite cemetery memorials.

Finally, we will make a stop by the Georgia Guidestones, a granite monument erected in 1980. A set of ten guidelines is inscribed on the structure in eight modern languages and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient language scripts.

We will return to Anderson by 4:00 pm.

Registration is no longer available because the event has been cancelled.
