"Exciting foods that are healthy and fun to eat" is considered the new diabetic cuisine.  It is no longer about denying ourselves this or that.  It is about spectacular flavors and being able to eat good food.

Chef Bill will demonstrate ways to leverage our meals to make them enjoyable and tasty. The beauty of this menu is that of the 50 grams of net carbs per meal, this menu is <30 grams. He will teach us how to read food labels and make great substitutions.

An experienced restaurant chef and owner dedicated to educating the next generation of chefs, restauranteurs, and hoteliers, Twaler completed his MSE in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Kansas and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Johnson and Wales University.

Twaler was recently named a 2021 South Carolina Hospitality Educator award winner and a 2021 Upstate Hospitality Educator award winner by the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association. He previously received the State Hospitality Educator award in 2016. Certified as an Executive Chef with the American Culinary Federation since 2011, Twaler was named 2016 National Educator of Excellence by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. He served as a chef for a James Beard House dinner in 2019 and coached the winning team in the South Central Region for a 2018 Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Jeune Commis Competition. He served as a safari chef in Zimbabwe in 1998 and was an apprentice with Culinary Team USA at the Culinary Olympics in 1996.
