    Planets at Peace Center

    Performance, Dinner, and Lecture with AU's Dr. Richard Williamson


    Location:    Peace Center, Greenville
    Date:           Sunday, February 19, 2023
    Time:          1:00 PM - 7:00 PM
    Note:          We will leave Boulevard Baptist Church overflow parking lot 
                         promptly at 1:00 PM, and return after the concert and dinner. 

    Cost:           $35.00 covers transportation and performance; Dinner at Fiesta in
                        Anderson, on your own.

     

    The orchestra will present Les Preludes by Liszt and The Planets by Holst. The concert will feature the Greenville Symphony at the beautiful Peace Concert Hall. Also on stage will be a large screen featuring visuals from NASA and artwork from local art students inspired by “The Planets.” The Rivertree Singers will be participating in the vocal role in the Planets. Roper Mountain Science Center is also participating in the performance. 

    On Thursday, February 16, from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM, AU's Dr. Richard Williamson will lecture on the music and composers of the Peace Center performance. This lecture will take place in CIDL Conference Room in the basement of Thrift Library.
