Join us for a group quilting experience this fall where we will learn a new block and work together to construct a Quilt of Valor to be presented to a veteran in our community.  Blocks for “Twist and Shout” will be put together to form one quilt. Once the top is completed, there will be a demonstration on a long-arm quilting machine where participants who wish to do so can quilt a section of the quilt.  The completed project will be presented to a veteran at the final session. 

You will have the know-how to make this easy quilt square into your own quilt by participating in this project with the group.

Class Outline

Lifelong Learning Quilting Class October 2021

Week 1—packet distribution and instructions on putting the chosen square together.

Week 2—work in teams to put squares together.

Week 3—demonstration of long arm quilting machine, each person will try their hand at a row.

Week 4—presentation of the completed quilt to a veteran

Course Facilitator Biography

Betsey Matheny is an alum of Anderson University. She taught technology in Anderson District Five. After retiring, she honed her quilting and writing skills, which she enjoys sharing with others. She is a member of Foothills Writer’s Guild and Pegasus Poets.
